1) What tools do you use for designing a Website?<\/strong>
\nEach Web Designer has their own favorite tools and by their answers you can judge their level of expertise. If you are hiring a web designer for your in-house Web Design team you can make sure that the person is also using the same tools, which are compatible to the other members of your team.<\/p>\n

2) Do you know about SEO?<\/strong>
\nMost of the Web Designers completely ignore the SEO aspect of Website. As a result these Websites can\u2019t achieve good rankings or major changes need to be made at the time of SEO Campaigns. Make sure your web designer knows how to make a Search Engine Friendly Website.<\/p>\n

3) What related Blogs and Websites do you read regularly?<\/strong>
\nMost of the good Web Designers are up to date on the latest news and articles related to their industry to keep them ahead of others and up to date on new technology. This question would help you to filter passionate web designers from others.<\/p>\n

4) Do you have a Portfolio?<\/strong>
\nAsk your Web Designer to show their past work so that you can get an idea of the quality of their work to which you can expect.<\/p>\n

5) What Browsers they Use?<\/strong>
\nA good Web Designer uses all major browsers to test the cross-browser compatibility of a Website. Do they use any additional plug-ins on their browsers? This would help you to determine their Skill set.<\/p>\n

6) What are your Favorite Programming Languages and Why?<\/strong>
\nThis question would help you to judge the programming skills of Web Designer especially if you want to develop some Web applications or other interactive features for your Website.<\/p>\n

7) Can you fix the Code?<\/strong>
\nGive them some broken code and ask them to find all errors in the code and fix it so that you can judge their development language skills.<\/p>\n

8 ) What makes you Unique?<\/strong>
\nThis is a good question to ask as it allows the Web Designer to list his attributes and qualities that would enable and decipher if this person would be compatible with the rest of the team.<\/p>\n

9) Can You Create a Sample?<\/strong>
\nAsk the Web Designer to create a small sample of your website so that you can understand what the designer has in mind and how you website would look like after the project is completed. Tell them about your requirements and see what they will present you.<\/p>\n

10) Would your Web Designers handle Website Maintenance Tasks?<\/strong>
\nMost Web Designers provide free maintenance for a few months; it includes upgrading your web platforms to new versions etc.<\/p>\n

11) Who owns the content and Website Design?<\/strong>
\nMost Web Design companies provide complete packages, which includes hosting, Website maintenance etc. Most of these companies can force you to keep paying high fees for hosting or lose your data. Make it clear with the Web Design Company that you own the content and website and that you are free to take it to any other hosting company at any time.<\/p>\n
