Bad sectors in Hard Drive is now a common issue and its just increasing, which is the reason its important for you to scan down the total hard drive and check out if there are any bad sectors or not. This is important because if there are bad sectors in your HDD, then the data saved in those sectors cannot be recovered and overall using a HDD would be useless. We had previously written articles on how to use the windows utilities and find bad sectors<\/a> but this time its going to be done using a free software.<\/p>\n

Its called as ‘Windows Surface Scanner’ which can be downloaded here<\/a> to your computer and installed. Now lets see how this software works and how to use it for your requirements. <\/p>\n

In order to get started you need to click on the Mount button which would then list all the Physical Hard Drives connected to your laptop computer. Next you need to click on Scan button which would scan your hard drive totally with a list of all the different sectors on your hard drive. This software is really useful for people because it can scan your HDD completely and give you a report with a list of sectors. If you find any bad sectors, then its time you should buy some Data Recovery Software’s in order to recover the data<\/a>.
