When you are setting up a Google Adwords Advertisement, you will be asked to fill in 5 different fields which would be as follows.<\/p>\n
Headline : The main Ad Line
\nDescription Line 1
\nDescription Line 2 : Both these lines can be used for adding the Ad Message
\nDisplay URL : The URL which would be displayed on the Advertisement.
\nDestination URL : The Location where you want your visitors to be sent to.<\/p>\n
However there are a few policies which you need to take care of, when you are setting up your Display URL. Here are some of the points which google gives you.<\/p>\n
Display URL must be accurate.
\nYour display URL must accurately reflect the URL of the website you’re advertising. It should match the domain of your landing page so that users will know which site they’ll be taken to when they click on your ad.
\nWhere you have keyword URLs, these are considered to be your destination URLs, and the display URL must accurately reflect them.
\nThe display URLs within each ad group must have the same domain.
\nThe display URL field cannot be used as another line of ad text.
\nYour display URL must include the domain extension, for example: .com, .net, or .org.
\nIf your actual destination URL link is too long to use as your display URL, use a shortened version (such as your homepage) that meets the character limit for this field.
\nExample:
\nDestination URL: www.amitbhawani.com\/blog\/category\/laptops\/
\nDisplay URL: www.AmitBhawani.com<\/p>\n
Since, Google Adwords wont allow you to have a different URL in Display and different URL in Destination, most affiliate programs wont allow you to directly promote their affiliate links. Hence its recommended to setup your own website where you would be publishing the affiliate links to promote them, instead of setting up ads on the advertisers website URL. Also make a note that Google Adwords wont allow you for the following :<\/p>\n
