In this Adwords Tutorial we are going to teach you with a few basic tips and ideas following which you can write better Adwords advertisements. These steps are very important because you are going to pay real money for advertising on the Google Network, hence optimizing the advertisements is really important. When a visitor searches for some stuff on the Google Search Engine, they would be visiting any advertisement listed there, but it could be your competitors who would be gaining the most customers because of their fancy and eye-catching ads. While your boring simple ads would be neglected leading to a very less CTR and ad campaign performance, finally making you loose sales, leads or traffic when you needed it most.
Attraction : This is the most important rule in the world of advertising, hence the better ad you create and promote, the better results you get out of these.
While you are in the Google Adwords Interface, under the Ad Campaigns, you will be asked to setup different Ads which ranges from a Text Ad, Image Ad & Mobile WAP Ad.
The system asks you to enter 5 different fields which you need to fill with the ad details, display URL & destination URL. Here is a comparison of two different Ad Types along with suggestions on which ones would work from Google Adwords :
- Good Ad Copy :
SLR Digital Cameras
Sale Now On. Voted Best After-Sales
Service. 80% Off Most Cameras
www.CameraShopSite.com/SLRDestination URL:
www.camerashopsite.com/SLR.htmlWhat’s right?
* This headline focuses on the specific offering and contains relevant keywords (eg. SLR Digital Cameras)
* This description details specific product offerings and benefits
* This destination URL leads to a landing page related specifically to SLR cameras - Bad Ad Copy :
online camera store
we sell the main brands
great prices here
www.camerashopsite.comDestination URL:
www.camerashopsite.comWhat’s wrong?
* This headline focuses on a company description instead of on core selling points and the keywords that trigger it
* This description is too general – it would be much better if it focused on specific products or services offered by the company – and it doesn’t contain a call to action
* This destination URL leads to the company’s home page, rather than to a page promoting a specific product or service
Based on the above Sample you can find that the Google Ad focuses more on the products page directly rather than sending the visitor to the homepage. This leads to better business because if the visitor reaches the homepage, they would be very much confused on where to move, but in this case they would be directed to the specific products page which they can decide to buy or pass on. Also since the Ad focuses on the Products sale, the visitor would most probably click if he is really interested in either buying or atleast getting the price quotes for the same, hence reducing non-buyers visitors who would click on the Ad and get you charged with money.
