HMIL Launches Hyundai i10 Car

November 3, 2007 by Amit Bhawani

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) launches their new car called i10[i20] which is going to compete with maruti cars. With a low price band and many extra features this car is a sure shot buy though price is not the only factor and other factors like maintainence, mileage and others count in too. i10 would be counted in the small cars section since its smaller than getz which is another product of hyundai cars.

Hyundai i10The name of this car seems to be copied from Apple products names like the iphone and ipod which clearly shows that the company is targetting the youth by giving a new generation name to the car and would challenge other cars currently in the market which include maruti wagon R , Zen estillo and the latest Chevrolet Spark.

Hyundai i10 will be exported to all over the world from india and comes in 4 variants – Hyundai i10 D-Lite, Hyundai i10 Era, Hyundai i10 Magna and the automatic version Hyundai i10 D-Auto.

India is currently having MARUTI as great lead followed by rest MNC’s like FORD,HYUNDAI,CHEVROLET etc.., but HYUNDA has great potential of being on top in some years and also Chevrolet as they both have economy range vehicles which are bought by INDIAN’s 🙂

    ”

When I buy a car, I don’t just buy it because it takes me from point-A to point-B. I buy it because the car makes my journey safer, faster, easier, cheaper and more comfortable. What is the point if a car can’t do that?!! The i10 is cramped- zero leg space, no room for the rear seat passenger, insufficient boot space. There is terrible road visibility for the driver, and above all pathetic mileage. Safety features are negligible!! I am regretting this purchase I made. You would think that after all of this torture, at least the after-sales service would be its redemption. But, NO. That sucks too. Has Hyundai become unnecessarily over-confident about the performance levels of its products? Or do they just plain & simple do not care about their customers because it eats into their profits? With the i10, it’s like once you have bought it, you are on your own. And guess what, it has bad resale value as well, so now I can’t even dispose of it. Yuck.

    Hi everyone,

Those of you who are over the moon about i10, have not driven any other car like Zen or are just making sure the resale value does not go down if lots of critisism is found in blogs.

i10 is a big mistake i have made. It is comparable to bullock cart ride as far as suspension is concerned on indian rough roads. I had a zen 1997 which was gliding on these roads and like a stupid idiot i sold it last year and bought i10. The Hyundai Service Center says they have received many complaints on this front but they can do little! Fuel efficiency is less than 10km/l with AC in the City. My other car Honda City gives nearly 11km/l.

I would recommend people stay away from this SRK promoted car (He drives a MERC).

Next year i wish to go back to Maruti Stable after getting rid of this Junk.

Ritz comes with a new refreshed design which is completely new to India. the car is a great blend of technology and design.I drove Ritz thrice before finalising it. Engine is super smooth. Pick up is good. Driving this car is a pleasure. I found this car very roomy and comfortable. though in the beginning back design is looking very modern

Maruti A Star is an international car, when I went to europe I saw many A star and when I came to India, I was surprised to see the same car with affordable price. Maruti K series engine is pretty refined and hence mileage will not be a problem. Sinc the car is satisfying many people across the globe, it will be perfect for you too.

I laugh at the guy who says that the i10 has bad resale value.
I am from South Africa and you almost cant get a second hand i10 because the owners keep them. The 2nd hand prices are high as the demand for it is verrry high.
Love da car btw I drive long distance most days about 1000km per week. Get 680km+ on 35/36l of petrol. I have the 1.2 version. Average speed 100km/h+.
    Can easily drive at 140km/h.
Car has done 56000km. Just changed original tires which were awesome could of done 10000km more but just to be on the safe side changed them to Yokohama a-drive.
Couple squeaks here and there but roads are bit bumpy in the area that I live.
