Publishers Revenue DownInfolinks is a InContent Link Ads network which is currently run by a lot of upcoming bloggers who are looking for some extra revenue apart from Google Adsense. These ads are shown on your content like normal links and when mouse over is taken place a small bubble is shown with few advertisements on them. When someone clicks on these you get paid per click. Now i had joined this network long time back and added the Ad Codes on some of my blogs, here are few stats of the same.

The following report shows a summary of my Infolinks advertisements for the period of January 2009 and during this period the total impressions were 3,87,755 with a total of 11,335 clicks which made a revenue of 853.5$ total.

The average eCPM during that period was $2.17 and the for the first quarter this stayed somewhere around 2$ CPM overall and then it started declining. The maximum earning per click when averaged for a few months was around 7.5cents/click which is decent enough because you were not selling a large inventory on your website and this was something which is shown on the content section.

Becoming a Premium Publisher :
I came to know that Infolinks was offering a guaranteed eCPM of 2.5$+ if you would be sending in huge number of impressions every month and this is when i started discussing with them about this. Followed is the email they sent me in response.

Thank you for writing. What I’d like to do is upgrade your account to the status of premium publisher. With this upgraded account, your website will start getting ads from a variety of new advertisers that provide much higher paying ads.

In addition to this, I am upgrading your revenue share from 70% to 80%.

With these new feeds and the upgraded revenue share, your CPM will exceed the $2.50 you are excepting. The results should be reflected in your reports starting today, as we have already upgraded your account. This is a very exclusive status that we have upgraded your account to, as we rarely offer it to publishers. Your partnership is highly valued, and I look forward to helping you take advantage of this special offer.

Only for 2-3 days the CPM growed to these levels but again its back down to less than a $ and it shows that the team at infolinks is not staying on its words. Even when i had enquired regarding referrals i was told that i need to promote my links along with my account ID, but never i could see the referral statistics and no commissions ever. Seems like all the referrals and the promotions done for them was only a free publicity for them and iam quite sure we as publishers are being paid at a maximum of 25% revenue share, though these companies announce larger numbers.

The in-text ads vary according to the visitors IP. Therefore different countries get different ads and different CPM. During the first few days after the initial integration of Infolinks in your website we are optimizing the system to produce the best results. Google adv do not reward you with payment, they are the default ads produced by the system when testing or when there are no satisfying results for the visitor’s IP. I suppose that if you are accessing from India during the test period you will get google ads from time to time.

It is too early for me to guess an average CPM but within a few days we should be able to estimate your average earnings. I am sure you’ll be satisfied we usually get very good figures. What exactly do you mean by referral program? Are you interested in referring other website to Infolinks?

We do not have an affiliate program at the moment. However if you have leads you want to pass to me, leads for publishers that you know personally and can convince them join Infolinks, let me know and we will work out a compensation plan for you.

For every new publisher you bring that has over 1000000 net impressions we can offer 15% you of what he makes in the first 3 months.

Overall its not worth going on with Infolinks now because you are getting paid 2-3cents/click at the moment. Do you still continue running these advertisements? Would you feel happy in losing your valuable blog readers for a cent?
