How to Activate BSNL 3G on Mobile Phone – Settings & Procedure

Some of us are having BSNL 3G Sim cards but sometimes we don’t have settings to configure 3G or some of us don’t know about how to activate 3G on your number. We will help you in this process and let’s see how you can activate 3G on your BSNL Sim.

Procedure to activate 3G Sim for your Mobile:
First of all you will have to visit nearest BSNL franchise or BSNL Sales office wherein you need to buy a 3G Sim which costs Rs. 300 and has zero talktime and 7 days of validity. After purchasing you need to recharge with any of the data voucher according to your needs, say you can recharge with First monthly Recharge (FMC) Rs. 399 with which you will get 1GB of free data download benefit which comes with 30 days of validity. From second month on wards, you can choose from a range of prepaid and postpaid 3G offers and also unlimited prepaid and postpaid offers.

Procedure to Setup 3G on your BSNL 3G SIM:

• First make sure that your device is showing 3G next to network on your home screen if 3G is not being shown then go to Settings and change the Network preferences accordingly.

• Now, you need to go to Connection settings, create new connection profile or create a new Access Point Name (APN) and in the Connection Name you can key in as BSNL 3G and in APN you need to type in gprssouth3g.bsnl.in. If you are a BSNL 3G customer from North, West and East then APN will be gprsnorth3g.bsnl.in, gprswest3g.bsnl.in and gprseast3g.bsnl.in.

• Please note that all of the remaining fields like Proxy, Port, Username, Password, Server and Authentication type fields should be left blank.

• After entering Connection Name and APN, you can now use BSNL 3G on Mobile device.

For setting up the free BSNL 3G connection on your mobile phone you just need to send a message. Send “Handset Brand followed by Model number” to 58355 (toll free), like if you want settings for Nokia N79, you need to sms NOKIA N79 to 58355.
