After the recent new brand identity, airtel is now back with another brand new logo which is new airtel 3G brand logo which was unveiled today in an event in Bengaluru where airtel also unveiled its most awaited 3G services in Karnataka. In India, as of now 3G services are only provided by BSNL, MTNL, Tata Docomo and Reliance. So, let’s check out what are the offers and services provided by airtel.

If you had expectations that airtel will launch budget 3G plans or affordable 3G plans then it’s not the case as that’s what we can make out from the 3G data plans which are mentioned below:

Airtel internet calculator
If you are not sure of how much surfing or download you will be requiring, then airtel has bought in a unique internet calculator wherein depending upon your surfing and download pattern, a rough plan is presented which will help you in choosing an appropriate plan.

Airtel Flexi Shield Plan
Specifically for HNI customers, airtel has launched a special new pack where in customers can make the most out of 3G plans. Like at just Rs 650 per month, user can get 1.5 GB of free data usage and then a flexible data pack comes in the billing and the customer is charged just 10 paise per MB till the Customer Expense Shield price is met. Customer Expense Shield is a special price which is set by the user to get the most of the plan as user will be charged at 10paise per MB till 14GB which equates to Rs.2000. After this cap, bandwidth will be set to 128kbps and it will be free of cost.

Along with 3G services airtel also launched Data cards which come in 2 variants – 3.6Mbps and 7.2Mbps . Still prices of data cards are yet to be announced and we will update them here as soon as we get hold of it. Along with the 3G SIM cards, airtel also announced the launch of Airtel 3G Data cards which come in 2 variants – 3.6Mbps and 7.2Mbps. How to activate airtel 3G?
For activating the 3G Services by airtel, you just need to send one simple sms as 3G to 121 (toll free). As soon as you send this sms, you will get a confirmation about the activation and all 2G data plans if any activated will be deactivated and the default plan of 30p / 20kb will be activated.

Airtel 3G Launch Schedule
Airtel also cleared the air on the launch schedule, starting today the airtel 3G services will be launched in Bengaluru and tomorrow it will be available for whole across Karnataka. Regarding the launch of 3G in other parts of India, 3G will be unveiled before March 2011.
