It seems that in India especially it would take another 6 months for seeing the iPhone in real unless Airtel and Vodafone would launch it quickly. Other than that many Indians now own a Unlocked iphone which they have bought from these iphone sellers and generally these iphone have a firmware version of 1.1.2 , 1.1.3 & 1.1.4 and you guys need to make sure you upgrade it to firmware 2.0 because it offers excellent new features.

Last time i checked out Apple.com i heard that this new Apple iPhone Upgrade would be offered for Free but iTouch users would need to pay a fee for the same. Other features in this new upgrade would include Better Email Management, Contacts Search, Additional Languages Support, Email Attachment Support & Scientific Calculator.
Apple plans to release the final iPhone 2.0 software, including the iPhone SDK and new enterprise features, as a free software update for all iPhone customers by the end of June. Third party applications created for the iPhone will also run on the iPod touch, and iPod touch users will be required to purchase a software update to run these applications.
