AskLaila.com Indian Search Engine on Mobile

May 19, 2008 by Amit Bhawani

AskLaila Indian Search Engine similar to Chacha.com is now available on your mobile phones. Just log on to m.asklaila.com and visit their website using GPRS or Wifi and send in your search query via SMS to 58989.

The service costs 3Rs/SMS on Reliance & Vodafone and currently its limited to just 2 mobile phone operators though other operators would be added soon. AskLaila is limited to just 4 metro cities in India right now which are Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai & New Delhi.

This is a really simple service for Who? What? Where? When? Why? How? type of questions and you get them answered instantly. If you run a business / offer services in any of the above mentioned 4 cities you can get them listed in asklaila.com for free.

Will like to know more about the similar services which are available for other cities also (like Lucknow). Its a pain to search for the movie times or new restaurants.

It would be nice if one can get the locations of ATMs, fuel stations etc but not restricted to particular cites.

It is then a very expensive search engine, costing 3 bucks per SMS i.e. per search. Google is free and its mobile products make it possible to search for results for free.
