Top PDA Phones in the Market
In today’s world people don’t just buy cellular devices, they search for the best pda’s (personal digital assistants). Common features include: emailing, calendar, address book, internet, gps navigation, music/video player, and of course what’s a phone without a camera? All of the phones have 3G capabilities, but unfortunately the 3G network is only available in select major cities. I have researched the top smartphones and come up with my top four.
4) Samsung Behold – This stunning smartphone has a slick touchscreen and the best camera I have ever seen in a cell phone. The calendar, address book, music/video player, and emailing programs were average and typing with the touchscreen is very difficult to get used to. I often tried to hit one letter, but the key next to it was selected. The motion sensor lagged a bit when you turned the phone to the side and the keyboard didn’t always open on the first try. Also, gps and wifi aren’t included. However, you can buy a bluetooth gps, but you have to buy a data plan to access the gps applications.
3) Palm Centro – This smartphone is one of the first to feature a full keyboard (Querty). Although the key are very small, it is much easier to adapt to than the touchscreen. Palm boasts this models light and small dimensions and I have to admit that this is one of the few smartphones I can comfortably put in my pocket. The camera and video recording is decent, but not as stunning as the Samsung Behold. The calendar, address book, music/video player, and emailing programs are also average. Google Maps is a very nice application, but a gps is not included in the phone.
2) iphone 3G – Apple, one of the pioneers of smartphones, has released their latest model: the iphone 3G. This phone uses a touchscreen which allows more efficient navigation to your favorite applications. With a data plan you can access the internet, sync your contacts and calendar, and navigation through gps and cell phone triangulation. The typing can get very frustrating, very fast. Again, sometimes the wrong keys would be selected and the motion sensor doesn’t always pick up when you turn the phone sideways. The camera is ordinary, but the music/video player is top of the line. You can sync your itunes and now you are allowed to transfer regular music files too.
1) Blackberry Bold – This was one of the most anticipated phones of the year. The Blackberry Bold is probably the best multimedia player because of its slick screen and unbelievable resolutions. With a data plan, the address book and calendar can be synced to your online address books and calendars (Yahoo, Google…). The Blackberry Bold also has a full keyboard (Querty). One of the best features I’ve seen has been wifi. The Blackberry Bold and Blackberry Curve can connect to wireless internet like a laptop for free! Gps and cell phone triangulation are used to find your pinpoint location. You do however need a data plan (wifi won’t work with gps applications).
