BSNL 1350 UL 512Kbps Internet Broadband Plan

July 1, 2008 by Amit Bhawani

BSNL Broadband has offered a new internet plan which offers you with a better internet browsing speed and moreover its a unlimited internet connection which makes it one of the best broadband plans for Home users in India. The plan offers the customers to have a Unlimited Download/Upload facility and free email ID/space of 2/5Mb respectively.

BSNL Broadband Tariff PlansBSNL has also dropped their Home Plans 900 and 900 Plus to 750 & 750 Plus because of the slash in broadband prices of different service providers. These new 750 Plans are offered with a speed of 256Kbps and unlimited upload/download and users would be charged at the rate of 1Rs/Pulse for any voice calls made from the land line mobile phones. If you are a customer who just need internet connection for email purpose then you can check out the BSNL’s lowest broadband plan ie Home 125 & Home 250 which offers 150Mb & 1Gb Download/Upload Limits every month.

If you want to change your BSNL broadband plans you can call the Customer Service center at their Toll Free Number – 1500 and connect to a BSNL representative and tell them to upgrade/degrade your broadband plan and this process takes generally upto a month’s time with the activation done in the next month of making the request. You will be asked to give your UID[User ID], Phone Number, Name & email id for making these requests and will be offered with a service request number to track its progress.

BSNL is generally one of the best broadband service providers in India and its recommened to opt for 1350 UL plan because of its excellent features and lowest downtime. In case you have any problems with this broadband you can opt for Open DNS because thats the only problem BSNL customers face.

sir, i recently changed my existing bsnl home750 ul plus plan to bsnl home 500 plan, the person who took my request letter to change my plan in bsnl office said that it would be done by the 1st of next month but when this month started i saw by account in bsnl there it still showed home ul 750 plus so i thought the plan may change next month and i started to use internet after four days when i again logged into my account it was showing home 500 now i had downloaded about 5gb so what can i do, i have to pay the bill or can i question the bsnl personnel about it ?
and my another problem is in my home 500 plan iam getting download speed of only 50-70kb where my friends are getting 200-400kb why is it like this
pls reply as soon as possible before this month ends!!!!!

Sir, I have exactly the same problem with minor difference in the date specified. I had applied for plan change in May from 750 UL to 500 home c, but the change was not effected on the 1st of june. I made enquiry at helpdesk and was told that my request had not reached there from the local office. I was told that plan changes would be effected on 1st of a month and so I used the net on the assumption that my plan was still UL 750. But on 6th of june in the morning I found sudden dratsic increase in speed (from 30kbps to some 120 kbps) and i was surprised to see the plan changed to 500 home C. By the time I had downloaded some 3864 MB. Now how am I to deal with this? Will i be penalised for the delay at the local BSNL office? I may request to please look in to the matter before the bill is issued.
Another problem is with the speed which is so very poor at times. There are others whom I envy for the steady speed they are enjoying.
    Thanking you.

    Hello there,

I am confused about the speed. If I am going for 512 kbps speed that 1350 Rs. pm, I should be expecting 512 kbps. However, few customers told me that they get up to 112 kbps. So I wanted to know why is this so.

    Thanks in advance

Guys i checked wit BSNL Junior Engineer of my area today. I have a 1350 unlimited plan and my download speed is arnd 30-35 KBPS. My friend has a 500c plan and he gets a speed around 100 KBPS. the officer said “at saree sale ul see 50% off sign but are they mad to give u t saree for 50# of its price just like that? Are we mad to give u unlimited plan and 512 Kbps with same download speed as limited ones?” I asked him then why do you advertise it as 512 Kbps when its actually 300 Kbps with download speed around 30 KBPS. he said it “doesn bother me” if u want use it or use limited. And he also had the guts to ask me why do u want unlimited and high speed…what do u use so much? well bloody mf its none of his business…

GUYS 1350 is a BAD BAD BAD Plan
if u want good browsing speed with casual use…i think u shud go for 500 plan AND even if u exceed and pay the extra amount i think it still makes sense rather than paying 1350 and gettin shit in return

I have been using 1350 plus BSNL plan for 512 kbps. This is from 3th SEpt and the speeds never touch beyond 412 kbps. Also it will be wavering between 150 to 400 kbps.Normally,We can not watch any movies videos without intermettent buffering. The customer care is pathetic and any number of complaints is of no use.Between Sept 5th till 20th November, the connection never stayed for 5 minutes .Hence I am going back to the Rs.500 p/m plan which provides good speed.

    December 13, 2008 at 12:14 pm

    hey chanikya…
Intially for phone you will be asked to pay –500rs (you will be able to make local calls only). Its the minimum..
    later for the modem 1280
    for unlimited 256kbps plan—home 750 c+ plan
here telephone rent need not be paid and is included in the in 750.
which means u get a bill of 750rs only. ok.
    taxes extra…
in addition you will be asked to one month bill in advance..thats around 750….
Adding all 500+1280+750=2530 (not exactly but around this amount).. but u should any way be ready to spend 2500rs

Hello everyone,I guess I can smell some fools here.
First, this is the response to all of them who has a question about BSNL speeds.
BSNL gives the most accurate speed in India, and there is no doubt.
You need to know what is the difference between a Bit and a Byte
    256 kbps = around 30 kBps
1 KB = 8 bytes(approx coz it needs to get lessen by 13 % as well)
So its usual for you stupid cows out there to get a 28 to 30 KBps speed for a 256 kbps connection and somehow or the other get 112KBps
for UL 1350 plan (though the actual speed should be around 60 KBps)
sometimes there are speed faults coz it can’t be 100 % …..but again….try to learn more about Byte and bits and then criticize your connection.understand u nuts!

dude….i know what u are saying u describe this in a mathematical way
          i kilogram=1000 gram
          so u said 8kb=1KB…
not like that happen if it would like that why it is written 1024bytes=1024KB…
yes according to u if i go mathematically then definetly 1KB=8kb(appx)
          i can say
but 256bbps=32KBps….check this u wrote wrong..i am studying bca in a reputed college….i didn’t find even like this b for bits B for byte i found but kb or KB all same it means kilobyte ..it’s a computer numaric ..don’t go mathematically i am a science student i did my h.s science stream i also knew maths…
          one day u said 1+1=2
          but in computer b.algebra it’s 1+1=10
so be aware of using wrong words…

lol u dont know what small “b” stands for? of cousrse fool 1KB=1024 bytes bit i am talking about “bits” the speed in which ISP’s give is in kilibits…for ex: 256 bps is 256 kilo bits…and 1KB=8kb
        or 1 Kilobyte=8 kilobits
i guess this helps u to increase ur knowledge..and colledges? wow nice reputed college…ask them what’s “bit” 🙂

between check my 1st comment in this blog…..as i have said 1KB=8kb it will mean 256kb=32KB
but i also said it will be 11-13% lesser than the normal ….so shut up about ur BCA shit…i know my friends studied computer science in their hs amd then joined a good institution to study bca…and i knowt hey are still dafts just like u who says b and B are all the same…wow really…
so stop whining and really learn something..

    January 28, 2009 at 6:23 am

Well i am sorry for posting my comment in a rude manner.
Well bhaskar BSNL connection that are on Combo plans can reach the speed of 1 giga bit per second
how ever the connection breaking problem that u are telling me,i think its the problem of ur modem
change ur modem since u will not be able to configure ur modem 🙂
i have this unlimited home plan of 1350 and its fine
however i get a speed of over 800 kbps
this ADSL Broadband speed will also be greater with the vicinity of the telephone exchange to ur home
but one thing i should say,IF YOU ARE A GAMER LIKE ME,DO NOT OPT FOR BSNL BROADBAND
ITS HAS GOT A HEAVY LATENCY AND THUS HIGH PING
for gamers, opt for DSL cable or satelite broadband from local vendors, they are good, believe me
just forward your required ports there and u will be able to play brilliantly
DO NOT OPT FOR AIRTEL COZ ITS SAME PING PROBLEM AS WELL!
    THANK YOU

For my opinion,go for cable Broadband if you just want to browse and surf sites
If you do want to play multiplayer games,BSNl(although unsatisfactory) and Airtel is the only choice
srinivas tell me u are from which city, then i can give you the list of cable broadband ISP’s there
    For example
relaince Communications are used as cable broadband
the most famous cable broadband is sify
P.S they are not good at all,but if you just need surf and download files.it is quite good
also for speedy download try modem connection tweaks like TZ Connection Booster or any other download acclerator

use there open DNS servers as ur DNS in the LAN properties
    208.67.222.222

      Hi Saket,

I think both you and your friends are a bit confused…with the BSNL 1350 plan (512 Kbps), 60 KBps is the download speed you should get…Incidentally I think your friends are getting exactly the same speed as you are…your speed must be 60KBps (KiloBytes/second)…and that of your friends – 500 Kbps (Kilobits/second)

      60KBps = (60 * 8) i.e; 480 Kbps, approximately equal to 500 Kbps.

I am using the same BSNL plan and I get download speeds of up to 140-150 KBps at times….that can happen, especially at night…you can get speeds of double your specified speed…this depends on a lot of factors

But the important point is that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the download speed that you are getting.

I just wanna say to all those fools just do divide the amount of speed by 8 which company tell like u have taken 256kbps plan so divide it by 8 (256 / 8 = 32) you will get 32kb per second as a download speed 256 kbps is not the download speed. In 512 plan u will get 64kb per second. and so on

you fool company says 256 kbps it means 256 kilobits per sec , 1 byte =8 bits
iska matlan ye nhi hai ki tumhe 256 kbps milega it means u got 32 kilo bytes per sec
ab samajh main aya lol mean 256 kilobits=32 kilo byte.

I have BSNL UL 750 home plan. Since two weeks it is totally getting rubbish. Every couple of minutes it disconnects itself and whenever it connects then multiple clicks inside the website won’t load and I cannot even able to download a simple 5 MB mp3 song as its speed is getting much worse and always goes down below 10 kbps to 0 kbps and disconnects. Initially I used to get speed between 50 to 60kbps. I am using BSNL since 3 years and never had such a rubbish speed.
