Facebook has recently come out with enhanced photo viewer named as “Theater mode” called by geeks to view the Facebook Photos/albums. This update from Facebook will allow users to view their photos in complete amazing effects. So do you like the new design of photo Facebook effects? Facebook rolled out this updated with any trial or the user’s point of view. But this update from Facebook doesn’t seems to have a full positive reason from the users and people are finding ways to get rid of this new Theater effect from Facebook.
In case you wanted to get rid of Facebook theater mode for photos you need to follow these simple tricks given here –
Direct Disable for Every Image
Now then the new update is rolled out for everyone you will see new photo/album in theater mode. So to remove it for a particular image you need to remove “&theater” word from the URL. So this will reload your photo in the old format and you can start browsing the album as you use it before. However this will last long for a particular album and doesn’t seems to be a perfect solution.
Simple Solution
Alternatively one simple solution to the above option is to refresh the browser. When page is reloaded for the second time it will automatically take you to the old format and you can continue browsing as before.
Hope Facebook hears this writing and provides users to toggle between the theater mode or the normal mode. Guess it would be better if we have in our settings of Facebook account. Or we might have soon third party addon and software creeping in to take the credit.
There is a GreaseMonkey script for the same http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/96773
yes its working damn fine, i removed &theater and tried, it displays the old format, by refreshing too its working fine.
But as I said it will only work for certain time. Again and again you need to refresh when you navigate to other albums.
Please make some greasemonkey script so that we can use old version without any hassle.
Hey Arup,
We have just finished up writing on Greasemonkey script (Userscripts) for both Firefox and Google Chrome https://www.amitbhawani.com/blog/old-facebook-photo-layout-firefox-chrome/.
It’s one of the informative post and thanks for sharing your ideas on here, yogesh. and, am happily saying, most of the folks will get benefits from the face book photo theater mode.
Reloading is not always reliable, some times the theater mode remains intact even after reloading, a more better solution is to open the pic in new tab by right click menu,
