I have been using Gmail from years but many a times i receive very important emails from my company and friends which i need to take a Print out off and this is something which is not User Friendly nor Printer Friendly because by default it prints out everything from my email and uses a lot of ink, are there any tips for saving this stuff. – Rajeev

While you try to directly Take a Print out when the email is open you will be also Printing everything which is displayed on the screen. Here is a small screen shot which will show you a copy of the email which would appear while you directly try to take a print out of a email you have received or sent. Just Tap in Ctrl+P on your Keyboard and you will get the Print Settings page where you need to select the Printer and get a Print out Copy, but this is how the Print out would look like.
The above image shows you that it consists of all the gmail features like Labels, Sidebars with Advertisements, complete headers etc and the main emails content is not given the right print area making it very small for even viewing. Now here is the small tip which can help you in better email printing. Gmail offers you with a option of ‘Print’ within the email itself which you need to find and click on. On the right most top side you will find a small drop down arrow which also shows the email senders details
Now, once you click on the ‘Print’ option , you will get a small dialog box with the Printer Selection Settings along with a new tab which just shows a small header area with the email sender & receiver information along with a top Gmail logo and date when the email was received. The emails content is followed as shown in the following screenshot.

Finally if you are planing to deal with multiple messages or threads in the same email conversation and how to print them, you need not worry because while you are reading any of the conversation of the threaded emails, few options are displayed on the right hand side top corner of your Gmail Interface which shows you options like New window, Print all, Expand all, Collapse all & Forward all. Thats it, click on these and get excellent print outs.
