How to Jailbreak Apple iPad iOS 4.2.1 with PwnageTool

JAILBREAK IPADLet us see that how you can easily  jail break the iPad 4.2.1 i OS. You will be requiring a MAC to jail break the iPad 4.2.1 and need to install Cydia. We will be jail breaking the Apple iPad with the help of a tool called Pwnage Tool. Before proceeding to jail break your iPad, you will have to make sure that you have installed all the softwares like Apple iTunes, iOS 4.2.1 GM, Pwnage Tool 4.1.2 and also you will have to download iPad 4.2.1 Patch file. Please note that, place all the files listed above in same folder and proceed with following guide to jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 GM on your Apple iPad.

Procedure to Jailbreak Apple iPad i OS 4.2.1 :

  • First of all you will have to Sync your device with i Tunes and create a back up of all your data, including music, contacts, pictures, calendar, notes, messages, apps, etc.  So that all your data will be backed up, just in case if anything happens your data will be safe.

  • Now, move all installed files mentioned above to the Desktop as a shortcut and right click on the Pwnage Tool 4.1.2 icon and select on option” Show Package Contents “.
  • It’s time to Copy the custom bundle for i Pad i OS 4.2.1GM and Browse to Sail to Contents, Resources and select Firmware Bundles and paste the custom bundle named as iPad1_1_4.2.1_8C148. bundle and close the folder.

  • Now all you will need to do is to just launch Pwnage Tooland it will detect i  OS 4.2.1 GM for iPad automatically.

  • Now, just Follow the steps as instructed by Pwnage Tool and once custom 4.2.1 firmware for i Pad is ready, you just need to have to restore it. Now connect you i Pad to the system and open the latest i Tunes and select the i Pad from the right bar of the window side bar and just click on restore while holding the ALT key which is located on the MAC/ Shift key on the Window
  • Just select the the custom i OS 4.2.1 which has been created by Pwnage Tools and then iTunes will do the rest of the process automatically by itself .Now, once the installation is completed, the i Pad will be restarting automatically and it will be running the jail broken 4.2.1 firmware. So by following a simple procedure mentioned above and with some tools you have easily jail broken your Apple iPad.

Poor JB, just a race to be first, not quality… No functional cydia… Almost looks like it just throws up a fake cydia icon and calls it a day… But if you restart it is clearly tethered, else nothing happens… I went back to 4.2.1 and no crashes, unlike my days with jail broke 3.2…. 4.2.1 is pretty decent other than no wifi loggin utilities and that stupid crap they did with the orientation lock…. Might not JB this time… JB always makes the system less stable and more likely to crash but this attempt does nothing except corrupt the sys… AVOID!
