LG Optimus One LogoLG Electronics has launched the hottest selling phone the LG Optimus One in India after selling 1 Million handsets in the markets of Europe, US and in Asia Pacific markets within the 45 days of launch. Where other manufacturers like Samsung is still waiting to launch Android 2.2 Froyo for its costliest mobile device Samsung Galaxy S, LG has come out with its Optimus One handset device which arrives with powerful Froyo 2.2 in India out of the box without needing to wait for an update. From LG’s cookie to the latest Optimus One, LG is continuously making its presence felt in the Android Market.

Camera:
This device also comes with a 3MP camera and as usual this phone too shies away from flash. Night mode images are a problem but day time images are either not too good or too bad. There’s a manual slider for a digital zoom too and with macro mode image clarity is at its best.

Cost:
LG has jumped in the party with this Optimus One handset launch by giving its immediate competitors like Samsung Galaxy GT-i5801 and Sony Xperia X10 Mini a run for their money as both devices still are operated on the Android’s earlier version of Eclair 2.1 operating system. Where the price of LG Optimus One is fixed at Rs. 13, 500, but you can easily get this for any thing around Rs. 13,000 if you are good at bargaining skills, the other two devices cost between Rs.12, 000 to Rs.14, 000. Now, in this range you have got a better choice to choose from, all thanks to LG Optimus One.

Pro’s and Con’s:
Like every phone has some pros and cons, this phone too has some of them. Like this device has positives like a solid build, latest Froyo 2.2 packed with a great battery life it has also huge negatives like no flash 10.1 support and also processor of 600 MHz fails to deliver when it matters the most or in short it sometimes lags and with a low resolution screen it makes difficult to browse on web.

I am confused between a conventional GPS device with preloaded MAPS and The LG Optimus One P500.I have never used an Android phone before. My real concern is whether The LG Optimus has pre-installed maps in it(google maps)so that i am not required to use EDGE/3G?
whether i can use my home wifi to download google maps once and for all? i really dont want to pay for GPRS/EDGE/3G connections for using the gps ?can you please help me?

Why would one want to spend 14k for the phone when it isn’t coming in with any good specifications, and even with the Froyo version of Android, it still doesn’t support flash.
