Make Money by Launching Jobs Board or Blogs

We have been discussing how job portals make money and a friend asked me how can we start a small Jobs or Employment related blog or a small Jobs Board and monetize it. This is a question which has numerous answers and it depends on the way you select to monetize from your website because the options are numerous. Lets discuss on some of the well known ways of making money by building Jobs related websites.

• Through different PPC Programs – As you know there are numerous pay per click programs through which you can make money. You can easily signup with them and get accounts and post their ad codes on your Jobs related websites and monetize them. If this option does not really work out well we can always go for the next options but if you take a look at many Employment related blogs they promote PPC Ads because these are Contexual ads and always serve the most related ads , which give them good CTR and income per click(CPC).
• Promoting Affiliate Offers – There are many advertisers who are looking to promote their affiliate products on their blogs and websites and make money through the sales or lead based signup’s. Since your job websites have targetted traffic , monetizing them through afiliates would be a good option. Get all their banner & text links and add them on your websites.
• CPM Networks – There are many CPM Advertising Networks like Tribal Fusion, Burst Media, Komli, Adbrite etc which you can signup and post their ads on your websites or blogs which get huge traffic. I have been using these networks and displaying their ads on my blog which always add up a good amount of supplementary revenue. In these kind of ads you get compulsory revenue because they pay for you all the impressions and whenever a visitor visits your websites and the ads are displayed, you get paid for the same.
• Text Link Ads – You can directly sell text ads on your websites which can be placed within the content, sidebar or any other location of your websites. Make sure you add a rel=”nofollow” tag to your Link Tags because as per the current system, selling links is not allowed, but when you are going to add a ‘nofollow’ tag, you are on the safe side and you dont have to worry about any kinds of penalties. You get fixed amount of money monthly through these companies every month.
• Sponsored Posts – There are many companies which offer paid blog posts which you can publish on your blogs and make money through them. Based on the blogs value ascertained on multiple factors like alexa traffic rank, google page rank, content quality, blog interaction, technorati rank, link popularity etc. You can setup your price for your advertisers which can be proportional based to the number of subscribers you have on your blog. Generally advertisers pay atleast 10$ for a blog post with the pay per post blog networks taking up 30-50% of commission. Try out with Sponsored Reviews, Review Me, Pay Per Post etc and start selling paid posts on your jobs related blogs.
• Paid Newsletters – Generally most jobs related blogs or portals have a good number of subscribers who are mostly job applicants looking for all the fresh openings in the market. Hence you can setup resource based job newsletters with affiliate links or banners within them. You can setup media kits on your websites with pricing based on your total subscribers because the advertiser would be paying you for the total views they would get from these compaigns. • Paid Surveys & Polls – If you have a good amount of visitorship which actively read your website or blog, you can setup paid surveys or polls on your website and get paid for the total votes or fixed amount of rates. Try out with questions which can be helpful to your visitors.
• Paid Job Boards – Personforce is a company which helps you to setup job boards and make money through them. You need to become a member of companies like Personforce which keep sending job listings on your small job board and get paid for your share. When you directly sell a job listing on your board you get paid 80% revenue sharing and when the company sends you a advertiser’s listing then you get a 50% cut, still not bad when you dont have to do any promotion, since they promote your jobs board.
