Micro SIM India – Bsnl & Vodafone offer 3G SIM – 32k / 256k

December 3, 2010 by Neal

BSNL 3G LogoIt seems that BSNL Mobile has quietly launched 3G Micro sims to facilitate the Apple products like Apple iPads and unlocked Apple iPhones. So with the launch of Micro sims by BSNL there is no need to take pains in cutting the sim to make it micro sized. Also to make the most of your Micro sims, BSNL also launched the 3G tariff plans along with the 3G Micro sim. There is no confirmation on the availability of these Micro sims but it is been reported that in some of the BSNL units of big cities and towns these Sim cards are being sold. The cost of this Micro sim Pack is priced at Rs. 100 that is Rs. 30 for the Micro sim and the FRC which you will need to charge with is Rs. 70, so in all Rs. 100.

Prepaid Data Plans:

Particulars Unlimited Pack Limited Pack Daily Pack
Cost (Rs.) 999 599 99
Free Data Limit Unlimited 6GB Unlimited
Data Charges beyond Free Usage – 1p/10KB –
Validity 30 Days 30 Days 1 Day

Postpaid data plans:

Monthly Rental Rs. 999

The BSNL 3G Micro sim can be used along with any of the above mentioned Prepaid as well as Postpaid plans. We also got confirmed reports that Vodafone too started offering Micro sims.

The price of 999 is higher than the 700 provided by BSNL in the offer of the pack for 6 months in total at once. The speed is the same and the service being the same, the price is different for a Micro SIM?
