Microsoft Live Search Maps for India

Live.com cannot stay behind when others like Google Maps & Yahoo Maps have launched their Indian versions, they have also started Live Search Maps India at http://mapindia.live.com

The First of foremost options which you find while using this service is that you can search destinations using 2 options – Locations & Business

I started making searches for my company names but no results were found and unlike Google Maps & Yahoo Maps, live maps does not offer you with any suggestions option for adding your own business location or your personal address which is added using pointers. This service should be really added very quickly because live maps are almost like another static maps which have the different main city/area locations but no information on small locations.

Next i started comparing the maps of all these 3 major services for my office location and found that Yahoo Maps are not for India and we can find this comparision left for the other 2. Here are the captures of the locations of both Live.com Maps & Google Maps.

If you see the above 2 maps of the same location, Live Maps is missing information of important locations like business places, malls, temples, any other place which may be useful for the map users and shows up some road numbers which is generally available in the other static maps.

You can save your favourite locations on this map, on the name of collections and setting up Push Pins which can be processed once you login to your msn accounts ie hotmail accounts. These collections are not public and are available only to you which can seen once you login back to your msn accounts. Another important feature iam missing in Msn maps is that you cannot embed them in your blogs like google maps. Other features which are missing are road maps & 3D maps for Indian locations because all you find at the moment is only 2D maps.
