Hard disks keep crashing and there are very very less chances that you can recover your important photos or documents. Recently i bought a mini pen drive to store important photos to make sure that it acts as a secured backup for me while the computers hard disk was accessible by anyone and also it can get crashed anytime. To my surprise the Pen Drive became dead after a few weeks and i cannot access it when i insert it into the USB slot of my laptop. Now iam left with nothing but a dead piece of the zip drive with all the valuable photographs left only in my memories.
In order to save all these incidents its better to store all the stuff on a online storage platform where you can get access anytime easily and which acts something similar to Gmail Drive. You get a Drive icon on your My Computer section which can be accessed easily and from which you can upload all your important files and stuff online.
Once you download and install the application, it will launch and ask you to Create a New ZumoDrive account which you need to complete. Now the service claims this to be a Cloud Storage system which means that it would never go down, but the logic behind this is that there is always 1Gb of backup storage stored on your local computers Hard Disk Drive. Whenever you are connected to the Internet all your files are synchronised to the online server offering you a secured backup. In case you lose your laptop or hard drive crashes, you need to install this application on another computer and all the files will be restored from your online backup version. The service works for Windows, Mac & iPhone based systems.
Its a really useful application for those netbook users who get SSD drives of 4Gb storage. You dont have to worry about the storage capacities because you need to be connected to a high speed internet connection or a wifi internet connection and enjoy the 500gb Storage capacity by ZumoDrive which wont make you miss that less storage space on your netbook. Overall you get 1Gb of free storage in the beginning and if the capacity has to be increased you need to pay based on the space you require on a monthly fees.
You can get 5GB of free space with an Office Live Workspace. Nothing to download, no fees, let’s you access files from any computer with an internet connection… check it out!
