iPhone before getting launched in india is going to fight with a very strong competitor which is Samsung’s Instinct Mobile Phone. A Phone which promises a 3.1-inch touchscreen with three navigation keys. The touch screen can be used using a stylus comes with the dimensions of 4.57’x2.17’0.49′ with a weight of 124.73grams.
This handset does look like a iphone but is not as classy as the Apple iPhone because it has a similar shape but not the colours and the smooth finish which we can find on iphone, ipod or any apple products. The currently available preview of this mobile phone is having a tie up with Sprint services and the features of this phone includes 2Mp Camera[you cannot expect more Mp on a business phone], audible caller ID, voice dial, full HTML browser for easy internet access and usage, album art compatible digital music player, phone as modem facility, microsoft live search, GPS System for easy navigation, Sprint Music Store, Sprint TV & Sprint Radio.
When comparing the Samsung Instinct in terms of memory slot, iphone has 8Gb & 16Gb versions but samsung instinct offers just 2Gb memory storage. Another problem is that even though it features a big display but you cannot expect a full keyboard mobile phone. Another problem which can be found currently is that its just available with Sprint services and not with any other network provider and the price of 300$ seems to be a bit high compared to the features. Lets wait and watch how samsung launches this model and how hit it gets when compared to Apple iPhone.
What is the operating system used in the Instinct? I would love to hear that first. It is no where going to compete with the latest version of the iPhone though. And would be great if you let me know if the touchscreen is a resistive one or a capacitive one.
Coming with the sprint, but if available with the price tag of $300 UNLOCKED it would be a great deal. But if locked and available with Sprint on contract, forget it.
