Well BIG TV is making digital TV viewing better and better and now they are coming with exclusive features of Searching from your BIG TV Set Top Box. This is a first time Indian DTH is coming with such a service. You can search from your Set Top Box and it is now quicker and easier! You can now swiftly search for your favorite programs and movies based on criteria like title, genre, actor etc. Just type what you are looking for using the on-screen virtual keyboard or the alphanumeric keypad on your BIG Remote.
The displayed result even shows short program description, icons and colour indicators.
Some of features of the Search service are:
* Search by multiple criteria: title, category, director, actor or other keywords.
* Predictive search displays results as you type
* Type via onscreen virtual keyboard or using alphanumeric keypad on BIG remote – just like typing an SMS
* The results displayed includes short event description, icon and color indicators to describe status (e.g. Clock icon for program set with Reminder, Lock icon for locked channel etc)
* Set Reminder for programs displayed in result screen (no need to go to Guide)
It will surly change the habit of TV viewing and you can’t be finding such a services on other DTH. As from currant condition BIG TV users are not getting such a service but our source is confirmed that BIG TV will be coming with new firmware version which make this possible and also give new edge to currant firmware 1.7.2 which is relatively slow in changing channels and using remote.
This new option is coming soon but we are expecting this feature by mid November when they are doing some updates with new channels and Value Added Service like iNews and iSports.
In our country, we only have ASTRO, and some of the TV Services also trying to have such a services as you mentioned. But in times I believe that they will improve more better.
