In an agreement with Twitter, Videocon customers can receive twitter updates in text messages on their mobile phone through SMS and can send tweets from their mobile through SMS. Presently Bharti Airtel customers were only allowed in India to mobile tweeting.

You don’t need to pay any monthly rental since in this services normal SMS charges are applicable. If you are charged Rs 0.01 for each SMS through your carrier then you will be charged the same for each tweet done by you except on the Blackout days.

For those who don’t have a twitter account they can create their account and for those who already have an account and wanted to go with mobile tweeting can follow the instructions mentioned below-

New users who don’t have account on twitter can register themselves from their mobile by sending an SMS ‘Signup’ to 53000 for which you will be charged Rs 1 and then follow the instructions to complete your registration and start mobile tweeting.

Existing Twitter users can directly send an SMS with ‘Start’ to 53000 and follow the instructions to link mobile with your Twitter account. You will be charged Rs 1 for initially. You need to opt for Mobile tweeting by changing the settings through your web account. Log into twitter account > settings > Mobile > and provide your mobile phone with the Videocon as the selected customer.
