The Dev Team has finally released the UltraSn0w 0.93 with baseband 05.13.04 to unlock your iPhone 3GS running on iOS4. You need to make sure that your iPhone baseband is anyone of these – baseband 04.26.08, baseband 05.11.07, baseband 05.12.01 and latest baseband 05.13.04. To find out your current baseband you need to Tap on Settings > General > About > check iPhone firmware version, further scrolling down will give you ‘check iPhone Baseband version’ under the Modem Firmware Label.
You need to first disable the 3G network and then Open the Cydia App from your Home screen and then Tap on the Manage > Sources button. Tap on the Edit button on the top right and then Tap on the Add button available on Top Left. It will ask you to add a source URL, enter http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com and then tap on the ‘Add Source’ button.
Now tap on the Search button at the bottom right and search for ‘Ultrasn0w 0.93’ which will display you a application, which you need to install.
Next the Ultrasn0w 0.93 will complete the unlocking process and enjoy your iPhone.
Ok, so how exactly am I supposed to unlock my 3GS running iOS4 without being able to Jailbreak it first?? I followed the link you provided, but the current version of redsn0w is NOT capable of Jailbreaking iOS4. I tried. Didn’t work.

You need to wait for the Dev team to update Redsn0w for windows users. Hopefully it will happen in the next few days

No it isn’t working fine at all.

it should work fine with 3GS. did you guys update to the new iOS4? i did on my 3G first, then jailbroke it.
the location for the ipsw for windows 7/vista is:
C:\Users\Your User Name Here\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates
for mac:

i did it yesterday with my 3G, though i cannot confirm it works with 3GS, it worked flawlessly with my 3G, AND even got to unlock. anyone looking to buy a white 16GB 3G unlocked and jailbroken? lol

Hi! After running redsn0w and ultrasn0w my iPhone is running very slow. In addition it doesnt look like the unlocking worked. I followed the directions- first running redsn0w then ultrasn0w. My version is OS4.1 on iPhone 3G. Help?!
Mine too – after jailbreaking my 3G with redsn0w on iOS 4.1, it works fine. Then as soon as I install ultrasn0w, it slows to a crawl. Really – it becomes completely unusable. I have to go back and do the restore via iTunes following redsn0ws directions to even get it back to functionality… I guess I’ll try purplesn0w instead…
