Nowadays everyone has a Laptop in India because the pricing of the laptops have come from high xxxxxRs to low xxxxxRs and now everyone is in need of a wireless internet connection to connect to the internet and always stay in touch. All the shopping malls and airports are now equipped with WiFi internet connections, but what is the option when there is no WiFi and you want to stay online while travelling?

Thats the time when you are looking for a wireless Datacard or USB option to get connected wireless all over India while travelling and let me introduce you with the Top3 available wireless data card connections -

  1. Reliance Netconnect – Reliance is currently the best wireless connection in India which can be used for bothReliance Data Card Netconnectlaptops and desktops and the monthly subscriptions start from just 400Rs/month and currently a promotional offer is running where in a free data card is offered. The download speeds are ranging from 15-25kbps when you opt in for unlimited data download package which is the best download speed offered in India on wireless internet connections.
  2. Tata Indicom Plug 2 Surf – Tata indicom broadband offers a internet compatible connection for laptops and PC’s where in you can surf internet anywhere in india with internet speeds upto 153 kbps though the practical speed is 20kbps only. The USB modem rental starts from 99Rs/month with time based and data based plans. You can get more information on this at ichoose.in
  3. Airtel Wireless – With Airtel’s Wireless Internet, you have the freedom to access the Internet anytime, anywhere across India. It enables Internet, Email, and Office applications with real-timesecure VPN access to corporate applications whilst on the move.Airtel Data Card is the superior PC Data Card solution which delivers wireless internet capabilities to laptops and notebooks, by providing EDGE and GPRS technologies in a single PC Card package.

Reliance USB NetconnectFrom the above 3 wireless USB/Data Card connections iam personally very much satisfied with Reliance Netconnect connections and i would recommend it to anyone who would be planning to buy one, but again always go for the external USB connection rather than the data card which is plugged into the internal slot in the laptops. Also review, rate and post your experiance on the best broadband connections in india.

REPRESENTATIVE PROMISED when my usb modem was activated on 1st this month, AND wow I GOT THIS SPEED FOR 7 DAYS only???, from 8th day onwards the speed is stuck to 115.2kbps, whether i use net at dead of night or day time , IT REMAINS constant 115.2KBPS. This is cheating on part of tata’s since their representative promises they give better speed i.e 153kbps than Reliance which promises higher speeds but gives only 115kbps.The service center did not help since my mODEM nos.10digits they did not know, is supposed to come with 1st bill. In case of wireless internet you can just it for emailing and some emergency purpose or whenever you are on a travel because you cannot move a wireline internet services everywhere. the first mistake u ever make is buy a data card. Be it a reliance netconnect, tata plug 2 surf whiz, or any hell.
For all those willing 2 have a reliable net connection, there is hardly any option for BSNL broadband.
    -No over-billing
    -Optimum speeds
    -No drop-outs
    -500 plan-total free surfing.
    -Lowest download charges.
    -All together an excellent package.
-So i suggest, get a BSNL broadband as early as possible.
Although it may take a while for the connection to be installed but after that u should rarely have any problems,

Very bad response, from reliance for purchaseing time they told us download speed is 50-60 kbps but all are worng it wont reach more than 5-6kbps relaince communication making fool peoples and it secter people. even there customer care also very bad in between mukash ambani is thinking only money making through reliance they making fool the peoples. relaince communication is very bad in network and telephone also i suffer 8 years eralier when i purchase dhirubhai ambani pioneer offer 25,000 ruppes loss but i think sub better done now a days again same problem. i purcahse data and suffering again.

Google indexes just about any crap. The writer is either clueless about kilobits and kilobytes or does not know how to write proper sentences.

The advertised connection speed is 153 kilobits/s and the download speed is 20 kiloBytes/s.

I wonder if someone taught him that 8 bits make up a byte. So 153/8 = 19.125 kBps

The writer on the other hand is talking as if they are cheating by providing ONLY 20kBps. Hilarious.

This article is misleading at best.

one problem i got in this connection is that when i am using it for sometime then it shows connected but after sometime when i browse sites than there is no data transfer (at that time it shows full signals and shows connected in window…)and when nothing happens after repeated refreshing of pages then i have to disconnect it from Reliance netconnect window and then Reconnect it from there…
I have to do it again and again..otherwise its speed goes down….

can anybody tell me what is the problem.. what i thought this is a common problem in wireless network becoz my data card is 100% okk and network are full.. but we have to disconnect and then reconnect it again and again.. ..

I’ve gotten used to Indian bureaucracy and lines, but nothing comes close to this difficulty. After 1 week Airtel sent a representative to a local friend’s home to verify that he/she knows me. When Airtel was unable to reach them at home during business hours they shut off my USB Dongle Service. I was already told by Airtel that if they couldn’t perform multiple validations of my existance then they would 1) shut off my service 2) refuse to refund any of my 5K Rupee prepaid

Well my hat is off to them, they promised to screw me, and they did. Oh and there was no option but to pay in cash so there is no calling the credit card company to dispute the payment. If I wasn’t living in a hotel while working here I would have ponied up for a cable/dsl option. Somebody cal the Waaahmbulance.

Without 3G now the BSNL Data Card cost Rs2800, Registration Cost Rs. 250. The plan cost Rs.250/Month for unlimited usage at 144Kbps. The Downloading speed vaies from 15 – 20 Kbps which depands on the signal strength.
When the 3G Spectrum launced by BSNL then the speed of browsing and downloading will increase upto 200%

Most of these companies, are fooling the CUSTOMERS, RATES are too high. Speed is also not good enough you can only check emails. And if you want to work 3 websites, can’t do. the real data offering is just 10-12 kbps. But even TRAI is also not checking them.

Advise to Dr Subramanian: Please dont move to BSNL, not even if offered FREE. They are the WORST service provider in india. It’s good not to have anything, better than BSNL.

As far as service is conern private companies still TOP the list.

I have been a internet user since last 11 years, and used different companies.

    MY LIST IS HERE:
AIRTEL : PRICE is too high, but service 4/5.
TATA: PRICE is too high, but service 3/5.
Relaince: PRICE are low, but service 1/5.

Guys i am using BSNL data card since 6 months. Its the cheapest and the fastest if you compare to Reliance an Tata indicom , these priveate providers charging too much as tarrifs. I am using BSNL unlimited wireless internet for just 420 Rs per month. I don’t think that any private wireless internet operator can’t even beet the BSNL with the tariffs and the speed.
I brought this data card for 3200 Rs. Its called Hawuai data connect(its a chinese manufacturer) which linked with BSNL. To take a connection you need to fill a application form at your nearest BSNL office, then pay the 3200 of amount as cash for the device. You need to pickup the device from the BSNL office when they says( usually it takes 3 to 5 days). At the time of pickup they will tell you all the details that how to use this device proparaly as usual you will recieve a user name and password with the device. The package includes 1) DATA CARD 2) USB CABLE 3) EARPHONE WITH MIC 4) DRIVER CD. Guys you can use this device for phone calls, if need.
Its simple to use just install the driver first then attach the device and logon using the username and password. There is only one plan is available which is 250 Rs unlimited , (taxes and other charges of 180 Rs will be extra ) i am receiving the 420 Rs bill every month( if you use this device for phone calls then you need to pay extra of 120 for FMC charges, i don’t recommended it,BSNL says that you will have 20 units of free calls available in every month but don’t try to use these free calls becoz if you call any body even once then for phone activation BSNL charges 120 FMC charges even its free calls so don’t use this device for phone calls.)

The speed is very good. Usually i highly downloads. Lots of them are torrents ( please search the internet if you don’t know what is “torrent”) and the direct downloads.
The speed is usually from 11Kbs to 25 Kbs depending opon the torrent seeders and the server availability. If you don’t surfing the internet in the back ground you can get at least 16 to 18 Kbps of download speed. From good servers. The last month i downloaded almost 11 GB (11000 MB) , most of them are games as torrents , and softwares.

Some one say that BSNL is does’t have much courage area for better signal availability. some time its may true , but guys aconomy like india needs a cheap and reliable service like BSNL , atleast who can provide unlimited datatransfer for just 420 Rs? The relinace is charging almost 3000 Rs for unlimited , you can simply take a BSNL broadband connection with 512 Kbps speed (for multiple computers) in this 3000 rs tarriff.
In my experience i will give 9.5/10 for this BSNL data connect , some say its takes little extra time to get the connection from BSNL office but to get cheap service you need to wait right.?
