Best Wireless Connection Data Card USB in India
Nowadays everyone has a Laptop in India because the pricing of the laptops have come from high xxxxxRs to low xxxxxRs and now everyone is in need of a wireless internet connection to connect to the internet and always stay in touch. All the shopping malls and airports are now equipped with WiFi internet connections, but what is the option when there is no WiFi and you want to stay online while travelling?
Thats the time when you are looking for a wireless Datacard or USB option to get connected wireless all over India while travelling and let me introduce you with the Top3 available wireless data card connections -
- Reliance Netconnect – Reliance is currently the best wireless connection in India which can be used for both
laptops and desktops and the monthly subscriptions start from just 400Rs/month and currently a promotional offer is running where in a free data card is offered. The download speeds are ranging from 15-25kbps when you opt in for unlimited data download package which is the best download speed offered in India on wireless internet connections.
- Tata Indicom Plug 2 Surf – Tata indicom broadband offers a internet compatible connection for laptops and PC’s where in you can surf internet anywhere in india with internet speeds upto 153 kbps though the practical speed is 20kbps only. The USB modem rental starts from 99Rs/month with time based and data based plans. You can get more information on this at ichoose.in
- Airtel Wireless – With Airtel’s Wireless Internet, you have the freedom to access the Internet anytime, anywhere across India. It enables Internet, Email, and Office applications with real-timesecure VPN access to corporate applications whilst on the move.Airtel Data Card is the superior PC Data Card solution which delivers wireless internet capabilities to laptops and notebooks, by providing EDGE and GPRS technologies in a single PC Card package.
From the above 3 wireless USB/Data Card connections iam personally very much satisfied with Reliance Netconnect connections and i would recommend it to anyone who would be planning to buy one, but again always go for the external USB connection rather than the data card which is plugged into the internal slot in the laptops. Also review, rate and post your experiance on the best broadband connections in india.

In metropolitan cities you may get connection well. If your use is extended out side metropolitan cities please do not buy it.

Now days TATA INDICOM PHOTON is offering cheap connection of RS 750 with many products (specially ACER computers). DONT TAKE IT, The serivce is very bad and very slow. Signal is NOT available at most of the places. When you complain they say “yes in your area its is weak., go to that area” and when you want to get it disconnected, they DONT DISCONNECT and tell you that you have to use it for MINIMUM 3 MONTHS and pay RS 2500/-. BE CAREFUL.\r\nAlso it is NOT UNLIMITED. You can upload or download only 2GB per month. Which is nothing if you want to upload pics or download music or movies.

the best usb modem around is tatas they offer u a constant 153 kbps ,THAT WAS WHAT THE CO. REPRESENTATIVE PROMISED when my usb modem was activated on 1st this month, AND wow I GOT THIS SPEED FOR 7 DAYS only???, from 8th day onwards the speed is stuck to 115.2kbps, whether i use net at dead of night or day time , IT REMAINS constant 115.2KBPS. This is cheating on part of tata’s since their representative promises they give better speed i.e 153kbps than Reliance which promises higher speeds but gives only 115kbps.The service center did not help since my mODEM nos.10digits they did not know, is supposed to come with 1st bill. My plan is unlimited Rs1000/-, the reduced speeds mean that many times i am not able to brouse 2 sites simultaniously, or trade shares online??? dont know whether i shd get rid of tata internet services

1) for reliance net connect do customer need to use phone as a modem.
> In case of Reliance Netconnect the company provides you the option to buy a Data card or a modem which costs from 2800 – 3200Rs.
2) if I taken connection in mumbai, and then i moved to pune, will i charged for roaming. (is there any roaming charges)?
> I dont think there would be any roaming charges because i have myself used the connection in bangalore & delhi though the connection is registered on hyderabad address.

I bought a reliance net connect once and my mother lost her sleep for 2 months. Every other day they will call my mother and say ” We will put you son in Jail if you dont pay whatever bill we send.” All their promises before you subscribe are mere cheatings.
They take custome voice form promising to change the plan and forget about it the moment you leave their office.
The executives are trained in how to cheat customers. Their Service Assuarance cell knows only one thing “Escalate Issues”.
Even though, they admit their mistake, they will not clear it.
They dont care about Common Sense, Laws or any guidelines.
whatever they do, you will have to pay the bills whether write or wrong.
so beware, buy reliance phone only if no other option exist

VERY IMPORTANT – Before going in for wireless data card/usb (Airtel, TaTA OR rELIANCE), make sure that the singal strength of Cell phone service of Airtel or Tata or Reliance at your house/location is full strength. If not, then you’ll have a connection problem. Airtle & Reliance signal at my house fluctuates between 2 – 4 bars every hour. Vodafone is full strength but does not offer wireless internet

my spouse is in Hyderabad, and i am abroad. to make things easy to talk, we bought a reliance usb wifi. it has turned out to be real waste, since we are not able to have a voice chat using this wifi… anyone suggest why is it so? is it a single out issue? Earlier before moving to hyderabad, with bsnl broad band there was no problem. Can any one make a hint, what to do?

@ Antony : The point is that we are discussing about a wireless internet service where you cannot expect a high data download speed and you are looking for voice chats using this internet services which is not possible and you need real broadband internet with speeds more than 256kbps. In case of wireless internet you can just it for emailing and some emergency purpose or whenever you are on a travel because you cannot move a wireline internet services everywhere. Hope it makes your doubt clear!

the first mistake u ever make is buy a data card. Be it a reliance netconnect, tata plug 2 surf whiz, or any hell.
For all those willing 2 have a reliable net connection, there is hardly any option for BSNL broadband.
-No over-billing
-Optimum speeds
-No drop-outs
-500 plan-total free surfing.
-Lowest download charges.
-All together an excellent package.
-So i suggest, get a BSNL broadband as early as possible.
Although it may take a while for the connection to be installed but after that u should rarely have any problems,

Itna ghatiya response hai lete time kaha gaya tha ki download speed 50-60Kbps par kaha sala 5-6 kbps ke upper toh range jati hi nahi. sara paisa doob gaya.aur customer care bhi itna ghatiya hai aur kaya kaho reliance ka sirf naam hai mukesh ambani sirf paisa bannane mein laga hai aur logo ko dokha diya ja raha hai.
Very bad response, from reliance for purchaseing time they told us download speed is 50-60 kbps but all are worng it wont reach more than 5-6kbps relaince communication making fool peoples and it secter people. even there customer care also very bad in between mukash ambani is thinking only money making through reliance they making fool the peoples. relaince communication is very bad in network and telephone also i suffer 8 years eralier when i purchase dhirubhai ambani pioneer offer 25,000 ruppes loss but i think sub better done now a days again same problem. i purcahse data and suffering again.

“you can surf internet anywhere in india with internet speeds upto 153 kbps though the practical speed is 20kbps only”
Google indexes just about any crap. The writer is either clueless about kilobits and kilobytes or does not know how to write proper sentences.
The advertised connection speed is 153 kilobits/s and the download speed is 20 kiloBytes/s.
I wonder if someone taught him that 8 bits make up a byte. So 153/8 = 19.125 kBps
The writer on the other hand is talking as if they are cheating by providing ONLY 20kBps. Hilarious.
This article is misleading at best.

I am using Reliance netconnect for last 8 or 9 months with an advance payment for 12 month.. I am satisfied with the speed as it is good for a wireless connection…115 kbs shown in computer actuals are 20 kbps approx.. but
one problem i got in this connection is that when i am using it for sometime then it shows connected but after sometime when i browse sites than there is no data transfer (at that time it shows full signals and shows connected in window…)and when nothing happens after repeated refreshing of pages then i have to disconnect it from Reliance netconnect window and then Reconnect it from there…
I have to do it again and again..otherwise its speed goes down….
can anybody tell me what is the problem.. what i thought this is a common problem in wireless network becoz my data card is 100% okk and network are full.. but we have to disconnect and then reconnect it again and again.. ..

However, if u ask me..mac is a complicated device..the only thing that works with it is a broadband wi fy connection…

I’ve been using Airtel for about a week. I’m a longtime IT guy. Unfortunately I’m from the U.S.A. and Airtel pretty much doesn’t want me to have this. I’ve gotten used to Indian bureaucracy and lines, but nothing comes close to this difficulty. After 1 week Airtel sent a representative to a local friend’s home to verify that he/she knows me. When Airtel was unable to reach them at home during business hours they shut off my USB Dongle Service. I was already told by Airtel that if they couldn’t perform multiple validations of my existance then they would 1) shut off my service 2) refuse to refund any of my 5K Rupee prepaid
Well my hat is off to them, they promised to screw me, and they did. Oh and there was no option but to pay in cash so there is no calling the credit card company to dispute the payment. If I wasn’t living in a hotel while working here I would have ponied up for a cable/dsl option. Somebody cal the Waaahmbulance.

I want a minimum 512 kbps connection for my laptop & no wires etc. coz i want portability. What would you suggest??

I think the BSNL Data Card is better than all if they launches 3G Spectrum.
Without 3G now the BSNL Data Card cost Rs2800, Registration Cost Rs. 250. The plan cost Rs.250/Month for unlimited usage at 144Kbps. The Downloading speed vaies from 15 – 20 Kbps which depands on the signal strength.
When the 3G Spectrum launced by BSNL then the speed of browsing and downloading will increase upto 200%

Most of these companies, are fooling the CUSTOMERS, RATES are too high. Speed is also not good enough you can only check emails. And if you want to work 3 websites, can’t do. the real data offering is just 10-12 kbps. But even TRAI is also not checking them.
Advise to Dr Subramanian: Please dont move to BSNL, not even if offered FREE. They are the WORST service provider in india. It’s good not to have anything, better than BSNL.
As far as service is conern private companies still TOP the list.
I have been a internet user since last 11 years, and used different companies.
MY LIST IS HERE:
AIRTEL : PRICE is too high, but service 4/5.
TATA: PRICE is too high, but service 3/5.
Relaince: PRICE are low, but service 1/5.
ENJOY GUYS.

Guys i am using BSNL data card since 6 months. Its the cheapest and the fastest if you compare to Reliance an Tata indicom , these priveate providers charging too much as tarrifs. I am using BSNL unlimited wireless internet for just 420 Rs per month. I don’t think that any private wireless internet operator can’t even beet the BSNL with the tariffs and the speed.
I brought this data card for 3200 Rs. Its called Hawuai data connect(its a chinese manufacturer) which linked with BSNL. To take a connection you need to fill a application form at your nearest BSNL office, then pay the 3200 of amount as cash for the device. You need to pickup the device from the BSNL office when they says( usually it takes 3 to 5 days). At the time of pickup they will tell you all the details that how to use this device proparaly as usual you will recieve a user name and password with the device. The package includes 1) DATA CARD 2) USB CABLE 3) EARPHONE WITH MIC 4) DRIVER CD. Guys you can use this device for phone calls, if need.
Its simple to use just install the driver first then attach the device and logon using the username and password. There is only one plan is available which is 250 Rs unlimited , (taxes and other charges of 180 Rs will be extra ) i am receiving the 420 Rs bill every month( if you use this device for phone calls then you need to pay extra of 120 for FMC charges, i don’t recommended it,BSNL says that you will have 20 units of free calls available in every month but don’t try to use these free calls becoz if you call any body even once then for phone activation BSNL charges 120 FMC charges even its free calls so don’t use this device for phone calls.)
The speed is very good. Usually i highly downloads. Lots of them are torrents ( please search the internet if you don’t know what is “torrent”) and the direct downloads.
The speed is usually from 11Kbs to 25 Kbs depending opon the torrent seeders and the server availability. If you don’t surfing the internet in the back ground you can get at least 16 to 18 Kbps of download speed. From good servers. The last month i downloaded almost 11 GB (11000 MB) , most of them are games as torrents , and softwares.
Some one say that BSNL is does’t have much courage area for better signal availability. some time its may true , but guys aconomy like india needs a cheap and reliable service like BSNL , atleast who can provide unlimited datatransfer for just 420 Rs? The relinace is charging almost 3000 Rs for unlimited , you can simply take a BSNL broadband connection with 512 Kbps speed (for multiple computers) in this 3000 rs tarriff.
In my experience i will give 9.5/10 for this BSNL data connect , some say its takes little extra time to get the connection from BSNL office but to get cheap service you need to wait right.?

@Pranav,
practically speaking 512 kbps(download 60kbps) wireless internet connection is still almost a myth in India.
the ones available are very pricey(comparing to service) n give sad performance.
but ur budget is fit for it.
try reliance netconnect or bsnl ..
other options – airtel n tata , if u stay in mumbai u can try mtnl(best in price performance comparison to others)

All guys, Iam asking all of you to not buy any of the wireless modems, when you connect to the pc, just you have to wait for more time even to open an website, sometimes we will get tention also even we will get blood preaser too, please dont spoil your health by buying any of the wireless one, my suggetion is please go to wired Broadband, now iam using BSNL Broadband 500c plan, I get 220 kbps download speed, 2 am to 8 am free downloads, after that 1.5 gb free useage, and 175 free local calls, all this just in below 600 rs only.

I tried BSNL NIC card. They calim a speed of 144 kbps and access in Punjab circle. It works in Chandigarh though speed never goes beyond 64 kbps which means download speed is around 3-4 kbps on an average. It does not work all over Punjab as claimed.Avaialable on rent but with such conditions you may repent later whether you buy or hire.

I have used BSNL for last 5 years, I believe that no private company can competite with BSNL. The infrastructure that BSNL is having is much much better than any other DHOKABAZ provate company. Its next to impossible .. Relience can do lods of advertisement but can not reach the level BSNL having.

i dont know about best but i am able to point out the worst in industry in terms of service is Airtel.
Even when you call their Nodal Officer then from 9:30 to 6:30 no one picks the call or just a voice message that ‘Our Nodal officer is busy’ and after 6:30 PM or before 9:30 AM, they say that you can call between 9:30 to 6:30 to talk nodal officer.
Worst service i have in my life is Airtel Wirelss Internet.

Hey, i have recently bought data card from MTS. It is giving an excellent speed both for downloading and uploading. moreover there are plenty of sites like yahoo, wikipedia, makemy trip where you can avail free surfing.
MTS have great plans and the best thing is that in the first month it is providing the usage of rs 1500 absolutely free.. charges are very minimal .. prepaid service.
im really happy with mts data card. if anybody wants to buy the same, u can contact the preson from whom i have bought … num is 9289305678

hello every1,
am 1 of the lucky guys who have been using TATA PHOTON 2.4Mbps unlimited plan for just Rs1500 for more than a year witout any problm in guwahati, assam. it is not tata photon+. the looks is just like BSNL EVDO and i get the speed usually from 500kbps to 2.1Mbps(2100kbps). doesn’t make any difference in download or upload as i’ve tested both(TATA PHOTON 2.4Mbps and TATA PHOTON+ 3.1Mbps). Its very good here in Guwahati.

i even hav roamin facility!!!! thats all guys.

Hi,
I am planning to buy a Reliance broadband net connect USB data card. I have two laptops at my home and I want to access internet by using the data card simultaneously. Can I connect to internet at the same time on both the laptops? Please suggest me the options with total set-up cost involved. I have heard about Wi-Fi router that can solve my problem but I don’t want to spend that much money. Any cable based set-up would also do for me.

The easiest and cheapest option is BSNL TRIBAND modem (wired) where u can connect two systems simultaneously. The speed is good ofcourse some minor hicups on service part if at all it gets defective.
