Thanks Amit for the information, But one thing the USB Modem of reliance speed is pathetic, its upload speed is hardly 32KBPS and download is 40KBPS where they boast of 153 KBPS. I am using high end m/c though with 2 GB of RAM. I have checked the same with airtel broadband and its speed is upload 143kbps and download 118kbps.
I think data card spped is really bad.

    24. @ Sushant Saurabh - There is no way to increase the speed but better try to deactivate the softwares which keep auto updating on your PC to save some bandwidth.

@ Shikha - hey Shikha reliance is better in my experiance since it offers better uptime and good download speed which they promise.

this reliance and airtel are not even sure of their speed they say ul get upto 200 kbps but the reality is sumthin different n tata is the cheapst 1000/- for unlimited and also the insatllations are also low

So go for REL Data card they really rock.!!!

    31. the best usb modem around is tatas they offer u a constant 153 kbps ,THAT WAS WHAT THE CO. REPRESENTATIVE PROMISED when my usb modem was activated on 1st this month, AND wow I GOT THIS SPEED FOR 7 DAYS only???, from 8th day onwards the speed is stuck to 115.2kbps, whether i use net at dead of night or day time , IT REMAINS constant 115.2KBPS. This is cheating on part of tata’s since their representative promises they give better speed i.e 153kbps than Reliance which promises higher speeds but gives only 115kbps.The service center did not help since my mODEM nos.10digits they did not know, is supposed to come with 1st bill. My plan is unlimited Rs1000/-, the reduced speeds mean that many times i am not able to brouse 2 sites simultaniously, or trade shares online??? dont know whether i shd get rid of tata internet services

The latest plans u can find in the respective service provider’s websites and u can use usb connection instead of pcmcia card because the usb u can use it for PC’s also and not only for laptops and some laptops doesnt hav pcmcia slot so this is the alternative :)
