Download Songs, Videos & MP3 Legally at Hungama.com Review
Finally the service which was announced long back as Bsnl Hungama is now launched with a monthly subscription based service where you can download songs at a affordable price of just 99Rs/month which is around 2$/month. You get access to around 1,00,000 Audio Songs, 20,000 Video Songs & 50,000 Mobile Wallpapers all at this small price which is really very low when compared to the stuff offered. The best part is that you can listen to music online or download it Legally and not worry about any issues with the Music Label Companies.
In order to test this service i opted for a Monthly Subscription System which costed me 99Rs/month and i paid via Net Banking Feature. There are multiple Payment options and i preferred Online Bank Payment. To get started with this i selected few tracks and clicked on the download option which then redirected me to create a new account and then make a payment on a monthly basis.
Once the payment is made you will find your account to be updated and you can instantly start downloading the stuff from the website. Though the titles of the website says ‘MP3 Music’ i didnt find the downloads to be in MP3 format but the songs downloaded were in WMA format which again has to be converted to MP3 format and this conversion didn’t work when i tried to convert using a free WMA to MP3 conversion software. While i tried to play the downloaded song in WMA format, Winamp shown the following message with a request to give access to open a webpage where it can acquire licence. Now this sucks because who has got the time to convert songs to MP3 format or wait in a loop for getting permissions to play the songs on your PC?
This is what the Hungama.com website says about their own service :
As a user and potential customer, we invite you to browse our website. Users are not permitted to reproduce, distribute, modify, display or make use of the contents of this website, except download material in temporary storage on one computer/mobile solely for your personal and non-commercial use. The website hungama.com shall provide DRM-free file format for sampling and downloading media. The Services are provided to the subscriber as per the selected subscription plan depending on the payment of Subscription fee, subject to certain limitations as described herein. The subscribers are granted specified download rights of DRM-free media files from the catalog of website.
Overall this can be a good service for people who are looking to just listen to tracks online from 2005 onwards. I guess once the Subscription period is completed you wont be able to play the downloaded songs because their access is blocked, which can again send the Music Lovers to the Warez, Guruji.com, Torrent Networks like Limewire or Illegal Music Downloads websites because there is no point paying money every month for the songs already stored on your PC.
