Turning your Laptop Computer in a TV using TV Tuner Card
You cannot always enjoy online television because of low quality, slow broadband internet connection and limited number of channels, but its very much possible to view your complete TV in your laptop using a TV Tuner Card. There are basically two types of TV Tuner cards available in the market which are Internet and External and in case of a Desktop computer you can setup any of these, but i would recommend using a external TV Tuner card for laptop because a PCI TV tuner card would be a problem.
External USB Models are easier to setup and can be handled easily as you dont need to play with the hardware of your laptop in order to get started. You can search online shopping sites for different available USB TV tuner cards which come with a remote control to change channels. These also feature saving screenshot to images, resizing images, auto-scan, full channel scan, parental control.
Some USB TV Tuner Cards :
Aver Card Bus Plus PCMCIA TV Tuner – 6000Rs[Rediff]
Smallest USB TV Tuner Card – 2500Rs[Rediff]
USB 2.0 External Tv Tuner For Laptop – 1600Rs[Rediff]
Techcom USB External TV Tuner Card For Laptop – 2200Rs[Rediff]

The pricing of these TV Tuner cards depend on the features they provide and it starts from 1000Rs to 10000Rs. These offer you taking screenshots from live TV channels to recording videos directory to your laptop’s hard disk drive when you are not available in order to make sure you can watch a TV show in the later period, a scheduled recording feature. Recording formats include AVI, DivX, MPEG1 & MPEG2 but the recorded video quality would be bit lower than the original source.
Make sure you read reviews on these shopping portals before buying out your first external TV Tuner cards.
