How to Block a Website from Children Access

August 19, 2009 by Amit Bhawani

In the world of internet World Wide Web culture, we should be taking care of our young ones from the cyber prowlers and websites which are meant for adults. Here are some of the suggestions which will protect your child from all the harm in the world we live in.

The first and foremost is to educate and explain to your child about internet. What he or she can watch or read according to what you think is your moral standard, This along will be ineffective, because once the child is on the computer desk, he or she has access to almost anything and everything, so we parents need to take control, it is like going to a shopping mall alone, or wandering in the streets alone, unless you have a set of standard it may be difficult.

When the child is on the computer make sure there is an adult supervising them, Peep in and see what they are doing so that they understand that they are :

Parental control bar
The easiest thing would be to just download a parental control bar. It is free public service from the following web site. (WRAAC.org) it gives parents and children controlled freedom. It works on the PC and MAC. It works on Firefox, vista and explorer.

Writing commands
Writing commands is the cheapest of all, because you have to write a program into your computer blocking the unwanted site, but the inconvenience is you need to have at least some knowledge about computer.

Safety software with the advance in the online web sites each and every day millions of new sites are added, old methods may not be that efficient. The latest software you can get is from the following web site (Kid safe Source), they have different software’s and the best would be Spy agent, which helps to monitor your child’s emails on line chatting and web browsing activities.

Some of the software’s give time limit as well which is wonderful, and we can set the time when the children can browse the net. These are some of the good sources with filter software and complete parental control.

Child gambling protection project
“The Child gambling protection project” is nonprofit organization software which prevents children and teens from the glossy and flashy advertisements provoking them into on line gambling.

Another solution to let parents monitor kids’web use is to use the Parental Control module from BitDefender which ensures your children can use the Web safely. I’ve being using it and I’ve been very pleased. Try it and you’ll never get disappointed!!!The 2010 version of BitDefender was recently released.Enjoy it!
