Honestly, I think this isn’t that great, Malwarebytes is WAY better. We use it all the time.

i have been using avg free and free zonealarm firewall for the last 2 years without any serious problem. 3 months back i added free malwarebytes and ms security essentials which is also free.all the 4 coexist and there is no problem so far. 4 free softwares and full peace!
but remember to keep avg resedent on for real protection and so with ms security essentials. also update all 4 daily twice.

i had, ms security essentials, avgfree, malwarebytes and zonalarm firewall free regularly monitoring my p.c. and daily updating defenitions. recently following leos notenboon, i installed ubunti10.1 on another partition, updated clamav antivirus and ran it using its interface clamtk. i was surprised to see that it detected more than 30 virus/malicious registry entries and deleted. obviously some virus cannot be detected once windows boots, and in the past, norton used to check by booting from dos. now, booting from ubuntu and testing gives the same power with added advantage of the user getting slowly familiarised with linux, in ubuntu10.1. ubuntu 10.1 desktop or nettop version can be downloaded from ubuntu.com, a cd can be made and ubuntu installed. the antivirus is found in applications/accessories as the last entry. try your luck
