How to Remove windows service pack from Computer

Many users prefer to install windows service pack to their computer for ensuring added security, protection and stability. However, if you do not have sufficient RAM support, your system may get considerably slower when it runs coupled with different other applications. In such cases, many users feel frustrated with the slow turning computer and get rid of windows service pack from their computer. If you belong to the same group of users, you may the simple guidelines as described in this article. Here we go.

Close all your applications before we start. Now go to Start button and click on it. Now go to Control Panel. Look at the following path.

When you will click on the Control Panel, you will be taken to the Control Panel Area as follows. So once you are inside the Control Panel, you will be asked to pick a category. Choose Add or Remove Programs from the task category list.

If your system is protected with service pack 2, the Security Center icon will be present there in the task category.

Now when you will click at the Add or Remove Programs, you will be taken to the area where you can select components to add to your system, or else, you may also remove any component from your system.

Now you need to scroll down to locate Windows Service Pack in your system and then press the button Change / Remove. It will then automatically remove / uninstall Windows Service Pack from your system.

Here it is. Let us remove it from your system.

However, remember one thing, it is the windows service pack that gives your system added security and makes your system more stable than normally installed windows XP or any other operating system. With the help of this feature, you can make your system more protected than before. When you are into the Windows Security Centre, you can enjoy the facility of managing security features in the areas like Internet Options, Windows Firewall and Automatic Updates. This means, you are able to manage the security setting in these three most vulnerable areas.

So when you are trying to remove windows service pack from your system, your system may be at greater risk for getting inflicted by many unwanted threats, and network intrusions. Moreover, you must make it sure that the component is uninstalled successfully, or else, it may corrupt some system files, leading to a unstable system as a whole.

    I was exactly looking for this. I have an older PC yet its P4 but its becoming quite slow with performance and I was looking to uninstall the latest updates from Windows. That’s an easy procedure. Kudos to you Amit.
