Whenever webmasters plan to add images to their blog posts or website, they have a few problems which revolve around the Images. The first and foremost problem is the Image Size because most large sized Images are normally in size of around 1Mb+ and have a very large resolution which means that obviously the Quality of the photos are also excellent. Now the problem is that how do you reduce both the Image Size & the File Size at the same time maintaining the Quality of the Photos. We had just reviewed another Online Photo Editing Tool, but in this article we are going to show you a website which is going to help you out in a great way.
Web Resizer is a Online Photo Editing Tool which offers with multiple options to you, when you are planning to edit a Image. Recently i attended the Tedx HitechCity during which we snapped few excellent photos of the ISB Campus using my Canon G9 Camera & my brothers Nokia N96. I have attached a link to one of the Photos below which is hosted at flickr.
Original Photo – Link Size – (2592 x 1944) (1Mb File Size)
Next i tried using different tools like DropResize, FastStone Photo Resizer, FotoFlexer, Pixlr etc most of which were desktop versions and some did reduce the size but also the quality which is one of the most important factor.
Upload the photo on the Webresizer website and then check out the effects. The service allows you to upload photos of upto 5Mb of size maximum which is decent enough because most Photos taken using Digital Cameras are of size of around 5Mb.
Once the Photo is uploaded you will find the website offering you with two different versions of the Image, The Original Image & Optimized Image. By default the size is set at 400×400 pixels, but you can edit these using the options available at the end of the page.
You can find that the original image was automatically resized and by default the quality is set at 80% which can be changed to 100% for maintaining the original quality. Other features or excellent options available are :
- Sharpen Images : When you take snaps using a Digital Camera, most of these are Softened Images and you can use this option to increase the sharpness of the Images. Recommended setting is at 30-50 levels.
- Adding Borders : Web Resizer allows you with a option to add borders to the Images Easily. It looks good when the Picture has dull colors or light colors. You can select any of the Border style and the same is automatically applied when you upload the next Photo. You can remove all the borders by selecting the option of ‘No Borders’ or ‘Start over’.
- Rotating Images : You can select the options available and rotate your Images, left or right 90 degree or completely reverse it by selecting the 180 degrees option.
- Convert a Color Photo into Black & While Photo : This tool has a excellent option of easily converting your Color Photographs into Classical Black & White Photos by selecting the Monochrome box and clicking on ‘apply changes’.

Nice resizing tool. I usually see a lot of change in the quality of the picture after the resize is done, but with this, there was a minimal change.
