Sync Apple iPhone with iTunes via Wi-Fi Network

February 12, 2011 by Amit Bhawani

iTunes WiFi SyncWhenever we would like to update some of our Apps or when we have to download iPhone photos then we have to connect the device to the computer and then use the iTunes software. From the day we have started using the Energizer QI Inductive charger we have found that the sync option has become more harder because the inductive chargers sleeve has to be removed.

In order to fix all these problems, the best solution is to Sync the iOS based devices to the computer through the Wi-Fi Network. Before we get started you need to ensure that the device is Jailbroken. Be it a Jailbroken iOS4 iPhone 3G 3GS iPod Touch 2G or even a iPad.

Next run the Cydia App and then tap on the Search option. Here you need to search for the Wi-Fi Sync Application which is currently available at version 1.1 and version 2 will be launched soon for free of cost as a upgrade. Currently this app would cost you $9.99 which is quite costly but for sure the current cost is not that high considering already 35000 people have already started using it.

Once the App is downloaded onto your device you are ready to go. But depending on your computer you need to download a different software onto your pc. There are different versions available for Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6), Windows, Mac OS X Leopard (10.5) & Mac OS X all of which you can download from getwifisync.com. Once this is done you can start syncing all the device data like music, apps, photos, contacts, calendars, email accounts, etc all of which you would normally perform using a USB.

Do note that this application works well with iTunes 9.1, 10, or 10.1 and its available in the Cydia Store and not in the iTunes Store.
